The readers of this blog are well aware of Vaidehi Ashram and the little girls whom I absolutely adore. Its a place where about 122 girls ages from 3 to 22 live together, most of them have no parents or a family of their own. Its a place where I find solace and their innocent smiles & dreams help me always to be positive in life no matter what. How the money has been spent to help out the kids of Vaidehi Ashram

Every single day I get at least one query where people inquire about how they can help the girls at the ashram. Just the very thought that somebody in a faraway corner of the world is having them in their thoughts makes me feel so warm from inside, to know that there are lot many people out there who wish to help create a better future for the kids. After organising two fund drives, I realized that there are not many ways one could donate in foreign currency. ~~That's why am planning to have a Chipin widget open for every 3 months.~~

Important Note: On March 7th 2013, Chipin shut down. Hence I created a new gateway for contributions on YouCaring.com. The goal is to raise atleast a 1000$ in 3 months. The money will be used for their monthly school fees.

How does the donation process work?

1. Click on Give Now button in the widget. (It will take a few seconds to load). You will be directed to "Enter Your Donation" page where you can contribute any amount via paypal or credit card. Every $$ counts. Whatever amount gets collected (even a single dollar) quarterly will be converted to Rupees and donated to the Ashram.

2. Once the donation process is completed, please forward your payment confirmation message to info(dot)siri(at)gmail.com. Within 24 hours, your name and contributed amount will be added to the 'Vaidehi Ashram Supporters List' at the very end of this post. If you want to stay anonymous, please mention in your email. For any correspondence/questions/queries, use the comment section or the email address.

To donate in Rupees: Please send an email to info(dot)siri(at)gmail.com for the bank account details where you can do a direct deposit your contribution.

3. Spread the word. Share this URL of fund raising page wherever and whenever possible and Let your friends and family know about it.

Many have also inquired about costs involved in sponsoring education, food etc for the Ashram girls. Below are the various projects and their expenses at the ashram. 1. Adopt a girl for one year (Includes clothing, food, education and other necessities)    [20,000/- Rupees]

2. Vidyanidhi (Education costs a girl for one year)   [5,000/- Rupees]

3. Mangala Nidhi (One time deposit to cover a day's food expenses commemorating any auspicious occasion every year) [20,000/- Rupees]

4. Smrithi Nidhi (One time deposit to cover a day's food expenses in remembrance of your beloved every year)   [20,000/- Rupees]

5. Kishori Vikas Yojana Nidhi (Expenditure to run one Centre of Development Project for Adolescent Girls for one month)   [1000/- Rupees]

6. Vaidehi Mahila Vikasa Samithi (One month expenditure to train Unemployed Youth & Women. Also includes cost for food and shelter) [10,000/- Rupees]
